Originally created in 1950 by Charles Eames and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, the DAX (Dining Armchair X-Base) was the first mass-produced fiberglass chair of its kind — redefining modern seating with its innovative molded shell construction.

This highly collectible 1st edition “rope edge” model is distinguished by the subtle raised rope-like trim encircling the perimeter of the shell, a feature exclusive to early production runs. The sculpted fiberglass shell showcases the rich texture and depth that made these chairs legendary, offering both visual character and ergonomic comfort.

What\'s special about this one?

It is in amazing condition, barely any marks on it. The fibers look magnificent the original Zenith label is fully intact and the shock mounts and rope edging are in great condition. 9.5 out of 10!
